TEACHINGS - What's In A Name?

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14

In like manner, our marriage to Jesus Christ identifies us with Him as His bride. When we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, we develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and we leave our old identity and take upon a new one. (2 Cor.5:17) We become united to Him by trusting in His Name to save us, and take care of us. Jesus Christ becomes our Lord, our Husband whom we love, honor, cherish and trust. By uniting ourselves to Him in marriage, we receive all the benefits of marrying into the family of God. Furthermore, as His bride, we also are able to act in His Name - to live out and act in His character, making Him the true Lord of our hearts. Just as my wife acts in my best interest, so we as the bride of Christ should carry out and support His interests. In this way, we will be truly identifying ourselves with Him as His beloved bride. As long as we stay linked to Him or married to Him, we have a life union with Him.

As the bride of Jesus Christ, all that Jesus is and has becomes accessible to us. We receive all that He has provided for us through faith in His Name - love, peace, hope, healing, strength, prosperity, security, and so much more, enabling us to be more than conquerors. Everything that is represented in the Name of Jesus is our rightful inheritance.

The Name of Jesus Christ is not only a saving name, there is tremendous truth, power and authority available in that Name. By using that Name, we can petition heaven and unleash the authority and the power of that Name. As a matter of fact, the scriptures tell us that every other name will bow to that Name. That gets me very excited. Anything that has a name must bow to the Name of Jesus Christ. Just think about that. Do we understand what this means? We have the power and authority of that Name because we are married to Christ to drive the enemy away. That Name is a spiritual weapon; mighty enough to pull down strongholds and destroy every evil power.(2 Corinthians 10:4-5; Ephesians 6:10) We have the power and authority to bind and to loose in Jesus Name. (Matthew 16:19; 18:18). We have the power and authority to drive out demons in Jesus name. We have the power and authority to heal the sick in Jesus Name. Everything must submit to the authority and power of that Name because it is above every other name. Amen!

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Mark 16:17-18

Anything that has a name must bow to the Name of Jesus Christ but it is up to you to act upon that Name. Sickness and disease has a name. Is your body plagued today with infirmity? Then use the power of the Name of Jesus and command that sickness to bow to the Name of Jesus. Poverty has a name. Have you lost your job? Are the bills piling up? Then use the authority of that Name to loose another job and pay your bills. Loneliness has a name. Perhaps you’ve lost a loved one or your heart is broken and torn and you don’t know how you’re going to make it. Then call upon the Name of Jesus and let your Husband caress you, hold and embrace you and sing songs of love, joy and comfort over you.

We have the authority in the Name of Jesus to ask our Husband, and He will do it. We can receive everything that God has provided for us in Jesus through faith in that Name. [Next Page]
